Today's giveaway is from Funky Junk Recycling! We're giving away the Diet Coke necklace I featured as a graphic in a post a while back.
The artist who makes these bits of green awesome is Christine, who happens to work with special needs kids, including kids on the spectrum.
To enter to win, leave a comment on this post and tell me what your favorite carbonated beverage is. Because I'm nosy like that.
Also? You should totally check out Funky Junk Recycling on Etsy. Not a Diet Cokehead? Not to worry. Her stuff features all kinds of other carbonated vices. You know what's adorable? An Orange Crush can recycled into a Hello Kitty necklace. You have to see it to believe it. You can check it out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/FunkyRecycling.

Diet Coke ties with Diet Dr. Pepper. I'm nursing, so I have to watch the caffeine, but both have caffeine free versions. Though...that kind of takes away the fun. But still!
ReplyDeleteGenerally I drink caffeine free Diet Coke, but the pieces she makes from Arizona Iced Tea cans, which I occasionally drink, are really pretty. I wasn't going to sign up for this one because I'm allergic to metal jewelry, but then I saw the ornaments and - eureka - that was the answer. I might go back and order the really cute gingerbread man. Thanks for the link SRMM.

Very cool! Diet Dr Pepper is my addiction!! I average a 2 liter a day. That's probably unhealthy.
ReplyDeleteMmmm. Diet Dr. Pepper is deliciouso! (I may have just made that word up-I'm not sure)
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke is my all-time favourite!! And to the servers at the restaurants: NO diet Pepsi is not okay instead. My friend, who I would love to win this for because she loves diet coke even more than I do, replies "Sure, is Monopoly money okay?". Love the necklace, and the blog!
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper and they must be "leaded"! None of that "unleaded" soda - it just tastes off!
ReplyDeleteI loved Dr. Pepper as a kid, but as an adult, A&W Root Beer, hands down.
ReplyDeleteDr. Pepper - HANDS DOWN!
ReplyDeleteEspecially from Sonic during Happy Hour - 1/2 price! Numnumnum. Add a little vanilla for some more sugar if the 3 year old is out of control and you're at wits end... Voila, the world is perfect.
very cute, very green. yeah recycling!
ReplyDeletePepsi throwback or caffeine free pepsi. I looked at a lot of the pages of the site and oh goodness that is some really neat stuff! Even though I hate Coke apparently the cans turn into the cutest items!
ReplyDeleteA&W rootbeer....creativity runs amok in the minds of some lucky people, like Christine...these are so beyond amazing awesomeness!!
ReplyDeleteLilO
OMG Dr Pepper ... eek ... it was in Australia a few years ago and I was at an all day outdoor rock concert and was SOOOO thirsty and that's all they had ... I had almost skolled the can before the taste hit and I spat most of it out. Blerg. I think you can only get it at American import stores now.
ReplyDeleteWe have Coke Zero here - like diet coke but in a black can and apparently one preservative different. The skeptics says its the same but aimed at men because they wont ask for a diet coke - tis a bit girly. I'm a can a day gurl.
Tara-you are not alone! Love Diet Coke can't stand Diet Pepsi.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite carbonated beverage is diet mountain dew.....but my assistant teacher is hooked on diet coke. And as much as she's fantastic & wonderful & connected to my brain in many ways and I'd never survive a day at work (who'da thunk that a special needs mom with not only her own children, but now a special needs stepson would be a preschool teacher and take on more during the day!?) funds are really really tight and I don't have much to buy her a gift. Of course, I could never afford to buy her enough to show her how much I truly appreciate what she does every single day....
ReplyDeleteEntering a comment to win. Ha!
ReplyDeleteCherry Coke Zero or Diet Coke Lime win in the low-cal cola category, but by far my favorite carb bev is Mello Yello -- the liquid that fueled the dreams of champions (or, at least, kept me awake in college.) Delish!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty even tie between Dr Pepper and caffeine free diet coke. But I love me som,e orange crush AND hello kitty. That's pretty amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI adore this jewelry!! Coke is my vice. Original is the best but I usually drink Diet Coke or Coke Zero.
ReplyDeleteoh man, i want that so bad. my favorite soda is definitely diet coke. it is my raison d'etre (ya know, once i get past my son and husband and all that). i even have avintage tee shirt that says "I heart diet coke".
ReplyDeletePEPSI!
ReplyDeleteDiet coke all the way. This necklace is so cool
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a soda girl, though I do slam a Mountain Dew here and there. Would it be shameful if I listed my favorite as Bud Light? :-)
ReplyDeleteoh I am so bland! I must admit my favorite carbonated beverage is club soda. No splash of citris. Just club soda. Hell, i'd drink alka-seltzer as a drink if I could. If someone would create a carbonated unsweet tea my life would be complete.
ReplyDeleteCoke Zero
ReplyDeleteMmmm I'm drinking a tangerine lime sparkling water right now (in one hand, coffee in the other...totally double fisting at 8:30am), but after that it'll be all diet Dr. Pepper!
ReplyDeleteMmm...I'm a way too much a day Diet Coke or Coke Zero girl! Love this! (Diet Dr. Pepper is good too, though.)
ReplyDeleteLike you I have given up drinking or eating anything with artificial sweeteners. I thought I was getting arthritis because my joints hurt so bad. A friend suggested I cut out sweeteners and see if that helped. In 3 days I was pain-free (I know it sounds like a bad infomercial). So I am grieving my secret diet coke and splenda but really happy that my joints feel normal again.
ReplyDeleteOK, if I don't win, I might have to get one anyway! How fun!
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke all the way, baby!!
ReplyDeleteCherry Coke Zero. I add port to it on a bad day.
ReplyDelete* raises hand * Diet cherry coke is my poison of choice
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke all the way, baby! I've had sympathy withdrawls ever since you had to cut back :o(
ReplyDeleteDiet Dr. Pepper!
ReplyDeleteWould she make me something with Mountain Dew?
ReplyDeleteDr. Pepper!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say anything diet. Except for Mountain Dew, because - EEWWW. I try to avoid drinking things that are roughly the same color as a bodily fluid one puts out while suffering from a raging bacterial infection, or anything that resembles radioactive materials.
ReplyDeleteBut maybe that's just me... :-D
Awesome metalwork!
ReplyDeleteDiet Pepsi (I feel like I must whisper that while looking over my shoulder - not too many Pepsi fans on here!), but a close second would be Orange Crush! Love the Hello Kitty necklace!
ReplyDeleteI love Cherry 7-Up, but when it comes to needing continuos caffeine I love Diet Coke with Lime!
ReplyDeletePepsi. except I started south beach yesterday so I'm off the stuff. grrrrrr
ReplyDeleteI showed my kids the Funky Junk recycling site to order me presents from! If I win this one, even more to love!!!
Super adorable.
ReplyDeleteCherry Coke or Cherry Dr. Pepper! Anything cherry!
ReplyDeleteBeen a huge diet coke fan for decades, however I enjoy a diet Dr.Pepper every now and then in the summer. Its a treat for me. Love your blog.
ReplyDeletecoke or root beer. :)
ReplyDeletediet coke is my favorite soda -- and i would LOVE that necklace!! :D i've been oogling it since you put it on your blog :D
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke for the win! Diet Pepsi tastes like melted aluminum.
ReplyDeleteThat Etsy shop is a great find!
I'm a Dr Pepper fan, but I would love something like this for my sister-in-law.
ReplyDeleteCoke Zero Fan all the way. But I could actually give this necklace to my Diet Coke is the only way to go friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Pepper fan!
ReplyDeletestarted on Tab as a kid, graduated to Diet Coke. Do like the Mt Dew every now and then....
ReplyDelete3 diet cokes a day
ReplyDeleteFresca in the summer
Cute! I want this for my little sister, she's a dr. pepper junkie! charlottemm@email.com
ReplyDeleteI'm a coke girl. But I love her work... just might have to get some of this stuff for Christmas gifts!! Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteI love Dr. Pepper, but my favorite is dry grape ginger ale (it's seasonal)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is clear cream soda. Since that is hard to find, I usually drink 7up.
ReplyDeletediet coke. yum. and now, for the christmas season, "not diet" cranberry ginger ale. but i <3 that necklace.
ReplyDeleteDr Pepper!!
ReplyDeleteDoes Champagne count? Hm...I suppose I am a fan of Dr. Pepper. Not much of a carbonated drink person, except for Champagne, yum!
ReplyDeleteCoke Cherry Zero for sure...
ReplyDeleteI am a Dr Pepper girl, all the way to the core. Everyday, one Dr Pepper has to be consumed once I have stopped drinking coffee, or my world ends...
ReplyDeleteI start my morning with a Dr. Pepper!
ReplyDeleteFanta is my favorite, but I like Mountain Dew almost as much.
ReplyDeleteawesome!
ReplyDeleteBlue Monster! My hubby is a total addict and plays the banjo...Would LOVE to win a Banjo or guitar made of Blue Monster. Would score me major wife brownie points. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog :)
Monster Import is delicious.....
ReplyDeleteCoke Zero...although I will admit that I miss Faygo Orange and Purple.
ReplyDeleteI call it pop, too. It's a Pittsburgh thing.
Favorite Carbonated bev is definitely Pelligrino or Lime flavored Sparkling Water. No calories...no guilt...more room for pie ;o)
ReplyDeleteDIET COKE!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Diet Coke with Lime. It's hard to find sometimes, so I'll just squirt a litle RealLime into a regular diet coke...
ReplyDeleteCute products!
COKE - full strength. None of that namby pamby Diet stuff!!
ReplyDeleteI'm strictly a Diet Coke girl. Only thing that helps with my migraines...
ReplyDeleteCoke Zero when I'm being good, Dr. Pepper when I'm being bad ;)
ReplyDeleteI am a Dr. Pepper fiend. But I sometimes drink Diet Coke if Dr. P is out on a call somewhere. Only the Diet ones, though the normal Cokes make me go "Ick".
ReplyDeleteI cannot live without Cherry Coke. Regular Coke laced with grenadine is not a substitute for actual Cherry Coke loveliness.
ReplyDeletei LOVE it!!! all i drink is diet coke ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so addicted to Diet Coke that when I was pregnant with #5 by OB told me to try to cut back to 2 cans a day, not to quit altogether because it would "send my system into shock." I am completely obsessed!
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted to Iron Bru, so much so that I have to import it from Scotland since they don't sell it here in the states.
ReplyDeleteFanta, Fanta, Fanta!! Orange, lemon, Cherry it doesn't matter as long as its Fanta :)
ReplyDeleteMust have regular coke!
ReplyDeleteI love Diet Coke, but as it is not good for me I usually settle for Fresca.
ReplyDeleteProbably Diet Dr. Pepper...with Diet Coke a close second.
ReplyDeleteBut if I'm feeling "healthy" I go for an Izze!
Diet Coke!!!! I've been drinking more since I heard you had to cut back - can't decide if it's sympathy or fear that I may have to do the same thing!
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke!!!! Drinking one right now (Aaaah!)
ReplyDeleteTotally dr pepper and all of it's store brand bastard children.
ReplyDeleteDiet DR Pepper is like crack!
ReplyDeleteNissa Anderson
I"m a pepper, he's a pepper, she's a pepper. Wouldn't you like to be a pepper too?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is cherry coke zero, when I'm not too lazy to get it (neither of the two closest grocery stores stocks it... jerks); otherwise diet pepsi or diet doctor pepper. Or if I'm in the mood for fizzy but not cola, fresca or jones cream soda.
ReplyDeleteAnd pretty much everything from funky junk recycling is adorable, and Christine seems pretty freakin awesome.
That would be pomegranite 7up. Yum yum!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to wean myself off of coca cola. It isn't easy. My husband drinks like 5 cans a day so they are always around and icy cold in the fridge.
ReplyDeleteHe recently hid them in his closet so I wouldn't find them!
I need this (please!). I heart diet Coke hardcore. When I read that you had to cut it out I actually gasped in shock and sympathy.
ReplyDeleteDiet Coke and I go way back--there's no way in hell I'd have survived the hangovers of my 20's without it. The only way I'll start the day, even now that I have to go (mostly) caffeine free!
ReplyDeleteCute idea! I have some nieces and a daughter who'd love them!
ReplyDeleteI don't do carbonated much these days, but when I do, it's got to be Diet Coke with fresh lime.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for anything creative you can do with a coke product!
ReplyDeleteCheerwine :) Those of you from North Carolina and Alabama MAY know the deliciousness to which I refer! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteDr.pepper!
ReplyDeleteCoke Zero followed close behind by Diet Coke....
ReplyDeleteMy husband just returned from the store...with more Diet Coke.
ReplyDeleteOh these are just awesome! I LOVE the jewelry. I'm partial to the diet Coke, and the lime one is wonderful. I will drink diet Pepsi, too, and if I'm completely honest (shhhh, I know, it's almost sacrilegious) I drink diet coke and diet pepsi interchangeably. Diet Dr. Pepper is also good, and because I'm also trying to cut back on caffeine, I have started drinking diet root beer. I'm not terribly picky, though, as long as it can eat my bones and make me burp, I'm good. Although I totally agree with the diet mt. dew, I had just never thought of it quite so, er, intimately. But no, you should never drink anything that looks like a bodily fluid produced by a raging bacterial infection.
ReplyDeleteI don't see the lovely frodka on this list, though. Heh, or the newly illegal Four Lokos. ;)
Love.Love.Love Diet Coke! When I can't have it I go for Diet DP. Both of them help me make it through my long afternoons as work! (Sometimes both in the same day - bad!)
ReplyDeleteIt used to be diet coke, then when pregnant for the first time I switched to club soda (from Sobey's here in the north, b/c I'm super picky and can taste the difference in other brands). It was a VERY HARD few weeks but I haven't looked back since. Though diet coke still taunts me, and I know if I have 2 or more in a row I'll be hooked again, just like any good addict! :)
